The volunteer board collaborates with the STEM Marin team to deliver the best academic experience for our STEM Engineering, Biotech and Art In Science
students.
This microscope enables growth and study of LIVE mammalian cells as opposed to studying fixed cells on a slide! Students use the cells with our 3D Bioprinters to create lab grown tissues and organoids. How cool is that!?
Six display cases were purchased and installed in the STEM building to showcase drawings by the Art in Science students.
Biological Frog Illustrations during their frog dissection unit in Biology.
Senior Engineering students get to show off their knowledge and skills of the engineering design cycle by coming up with creative solutions to real world problems. Project proposals include sand battery as a sustainable heat source, small scale thrusters, performance tracking athletic shoes, and high powered hydraulic actuators! SMF contributes to allow students to build live prototypes and bring ideas to life.
Furniture for the halls/lobby of the STEM building allows students to work on group projects outside the class, to simply have a quiet place to work alone, or just take a break!
STEM Marin Fund has also previously contributed…
• $30,000 from The William H. Donner Foundation for campus Makerspace
• $25,000 grant from the Joseph Drown Foundation provided Chrome-books, 3-D printer, tools and supplies for our campus Makerspace
• $5000+ provided students with kits & tech during remote learning months
• $3000 for a poster printer to display class projects
• $3000+ for teacher classroom supplies for the 2023-2024 school year
• $8000 donation from Jack Holme helped purchase equipment and
supplies for the upcoming Biotech Cell Culture Room, and additional,
more efficient 3D printers for the Engineering students.
One of the highlights for students in STEM Marin program is the opportunity to get out into the field and have real life, hands-on experiences.
Our goal is to have students across all pathways have access and opportunity to these fields trips.!
DID YOU KNOW...that each field trip costs between $1000-$3000?
The main cost of these trips is the TRANSPORTATION, and the lack of funding can prohibit our ability to bring kids off campus.
The Buck Institute, Berkley Science Lab, SF Botanical Gardens and Oakland Zoo are all on the dream big field trip list.
Please consider helping these dreams come true!
By making a donation to STEM Marin Fund you help us continue to provide these valuable learning experiences for the students, and for so much more!
Please show your support. A donation in any amount is welcome and will directly
benefit each and every STEM Engineering, Biotech and Art In Science
student. Thank you!
